then those who go CM but cant pass the soc with the barang barang how ? recourse ?

i see my coy medic he say he CM but some told me he SM only.

I was a coy medic. Combat medic spec.

I didn't pass SOC, and I wasn't forced to recourse.

If your coy medic is a service medic, he wouldn't be in your coy. Heck, he won't even be in your unit - he'll be posted out to one of the 24hr medical centers or similar.

That was during my time (2002 - 2004), but I don't expect much to have changed.

got coy medics...bcs medics...platoon medics...

now coy medics are drawn from bslc where they will go thru a 15 week compressed spec 2 course....so they are reasonably fit now..

Of course I didn't poke myself. We all poked needles into each other's arms.

I must have 50-60 needle scars on my arms by now. You get used to it.

yup yup....IV no pain one......onli pain is piercing the skin....

another pain is when u hit the valve in the vein....but thats rare...but somehow i got lots of valves and my buddy is cursing and swearing everytime he encounters one...

i am asking this because the coy medic is a 3sg apparently and there's this PTE medic which i was wondering whether is he a CM or SM and now i remember he's a platoon medic.

As I've already said....

All medics in a combat unit are combat medics. There are no service medics in combat units. If combat medics get downgraded to service medics, they get posted out.

So that platoon medic you're talking about is a combat medic.

Medic lvl2 course ... for the Medical 3SG .
Additional medical course involving more complications and surgery assistance trainings.

Simple.... because they're Spec II medics. They went for an extra course to upgrade their medical knowledge and skills.

It is a very common and false misconception that medics are all enlistees. Battalion senior medics are in fact at least 2SG and above. Brigade senior medics are SSG and above.

Heck, I believe the highest ranking medic in the SAF is a SWO.
