For Guards, khaki beret is to denote their separate operational
skills above that of the Infantry.
For Commandos, it's suppose to be maroon, not red. Should look at
the British MP. Their's, i think, is red beret.
Remember that RSAF's uses Blue-Grey hue for their beret
