we know that there are brigades in infantry like 3SIB, 5SIB, 30SIB etc and there is armour brigades like 4SAB, 54SAB etc. also guards have their brigades like 7SIB.

so does commandos and other combat support formations have brigades?

if i am not wrong, commandos are grouped in battalions, not brigades... usually, a coy ORDs and goes into one of the NS battalions... never heard of brigades for commandos, since i think they are not big enough to justify that size... after all, they are supposed to be a small strike force, and do covert ops...

as for other support formations, say, the medical side, they do not have brigades too i guess, since most of the personnel are always attached out to various battalions, and hence become part of that battalion...

my 2 cents worth, been out of touch for 2 years... heh...

If you notice, most commanders are one rank below their actual ones

Usually a division is commanded by a major general, now its a brigadier

CDOs from what i know, there is no brigades, but numerous battlns.

In war, the CDO COs answer DIRECTLY to the CIO. Cool no need to go through brigade commander, as their special missions are usually top secret and given directly from CIO.

Ya, there's this saying that once war comes, all the commanders' ranks go up by 1, due to the sudden increase in estab from peace time to wartime with all the reservists coming in..?

I find it ironical all the reservist PCs are at least LTA .. while active unit mostly only 2LT. Laughing

no lah....almost all 2LTs at 2nd yr become LTA.

my unit and my friends one, all the officers get their LTA by end of 2nd yr leh...

nono, it means they get their LTA at end of 2nd yr, so they can flash flash their LTA epaulettes for another 6 months lah. Very Happy
