palmerised SG

if i go there what do i become. Crying or Very sad

LazerLordz SG

Disaster Rescue Specialist?

maybe Paramedic?

ask the SCDF ppl for more info. Smile

insouciant SG

Erhhh… I don’t believe you go to sispec or OCS if you posted to SCDF. Pretty certain you going for some other course within the SCDF not SAFTI.

palmerised SG

yeah i know that’s quite obvious, but why of all things scdf. well as the saying goes, lan lan suck thumb.

Fatum SG

I knew a chap from poly who went through BMT and later became an officer in the SCDF .... don't know what route he went through to get there though .... and yes ... he's an NSF ....

cornyfish2000 SG

Most probably you'll be enlisted into the SCDF officer course, and become a 2LT firefighter at the end of it. Just like those chaps posted to the NSPI course at the end of BMT to become police inspectors.

By the way, it's not true that people from the so-called 'commander batches' go either sispec or ocs.

palmerised SG

oh ok can you tell me more about this officer course please? like, is there a confinement week? what's the pay for the officer cadets? then what would i book out in? civvie or uniform? how many people are there in this course at any one time? (got tekaning or not? haha Mr. Green ) do i stay in bunks or book out at night? 'prestegious' or not? what can i expect to learn from this course? how do people get selected for this course?

cornyfish2000 SG

I'm afraid i don't know anything about it myself as i was in SAF throughout my NSF. I think you can ask those chaps in the SCDF forums:

The SCDF forums

Or you can try checking out the SCDF official webbie..
Paywise for SCDF officers i suspect should be comparable to SAF officers, which means somewhere in the region of 1k.

nightzip SG

i think good lah...

cuz they usually do NOT post NSFs to police or SCDF as much, most posted there eventually become specialists or officers.

Anyway, you get to learn things different from conventional warfare which others do, isnt that a good and practical thing ? Very Happy

thoreldan SG

you should be happy you dont need to chiong sua and camou your face and go for 3day 2nites missions every other week Twisted Evil

LazerLordz SG

Take your chance to really be in a force that’s really on the frontline everyday.

palmerised SG

yeah i guess i’m learning to accept that i’m part of homeland security. well i look forward to learning life saving skills at least..
