Guys, to set the record straight, the right term to use is
'Smoke Trainer'. And not gas chamber! It uses a mild form of riot
control agent called CS gas (O-Chlorobenzylidene malononitrile). It
is completely safe for for usage under ideal training circumstances
provided the dosage used is in accordance to exisiting training
directives and TSR
Gas Chamber on the other hand is a term that is frequently used to
describe the killing faciliites that the Nazis used to great effect
in the WW2. The gas that was used was Zyklon B, a form of hydrogen
cynaide (blood agents as it is commonly known; a class of CW
agents)
Hope this sets the record straight and people will start using the
right terminology to describe the right training facilities that we
use for training.
The misuse of the this 'gas chamber' phrase has created quite a
urban legend on its own, and has led trainees to fear for the worst
for such training, when in fact this training is even safer than
taking a IPPT/life run!! It's record speaks for itself.
So guys, it is SMOKE TRAINER.
