I was wondering if i was possible for S’pore to invest in further development of the above mentioned aircraft belonging to US for our usage? Just my 2 cents, if this is a possibility, we could perhaps start a new competency unit (perhaps some basic stealth technolgy) in our small aerospace industry. I have to admit that i have no knowledge on the cost of aircraft further development programs, so hope everyone pardon my ignorance.

The YF-23 was developed by Northrop (the same people who brought you the B-2 stealth bomber) to compete with Lockheed's YF-22 (Now F-22 Raptor) to be a multirole, air-superiority stealth fighter

Unfortunately, it lost, so don't expect to be seeing production versions.

As far as stealth fighters is concerned, Singapore is involved in the F-35 JSF program, which I hope will replace the F-16s we have today.

oh! it's peanuts! just a single stage to develop the YF-23 is only going to cost our nation's defense budget!

note: there are many stages to accomplish before completion of the aircraft.
also note that developing in stages and phrases , also doesn't mean that the aircraft will be in production.
