what the heck do you mean that the office or whatever have to be
'safe'? they are there to ensure that the installation is safe, in
operational conditional and be the main point of contact in an
emergency. now, their safety is now place before that of the
units'? what about the safety of guys performing similar duties?

they have to remember, when they put on the uniform, they actually
volunteer for it. that would means they understand and accept any
risk when performing their duties. these standing orders are really
BS.
and for your info, my battery RSM was a female. i address as 'Mdm'
even when i don't have to because she's comitted to her job, pull
her own weight in duties and gets the required training done and i
respect her for that.
