Expansion of Tekong BMTC???

one-niner SG

errmm ...you used GoogleEarth or GoogleEarth Plus ? that means SAF camps all can view including gd old LCK ?

lwflee SG

Wow...entire camp built by the Combat Engineers?!!?

WHAT THE FCUK?

I don't think that is right. On the face of things it looks like exploitation of the highest order. When completed, this project will probably win awards for being incredibly cheap since manpower costs are effectively $0.

More importantly, this sets a precedent. How long before the combat engineers are contracted out for private building projects?

Ponders SG

which pioneer edtion are you refering to???

anyway, the camp that is totally built by Engineers.... is camp Cam3l0t. well.. it's supposed to be all alphabets but you know.....

anyway... it's not going to be for BMTC... and not for the army...

it's for the other service of SAF.

K.. i am being very ambiguous because i still want my a$$.

using normal google earth.

Well what is on normal google earth now does not give total clear images of different army base. They have different resolution on different area of singapore.Tekong is one area where the resolution is much higher so we can see how the camp look like but those camps at main land. They are so blur that u cannot make out that what it is on the map even when u go down to the lowest viewable option.

That being said, what i read on google earth is that it is mostly only USA that is mapped out, giving detailed views for now. When they are done with that, they will focus on other regions/countries.Thou i am not sure how clear are the images if u buy the Plus version or the Pro version.

ditzy SG

I use the pro version, can save up to 4800 pixels but really lah, doesn't make a difference. Laughing All their maps are cross-stiched.

According to the maps I have (Periplus) Sanyongkong will be somewhere right smack in the middle of Tekong. At Ladang it’s hot enough. Sanyongkong? Even hotter :p

Built by the Combat Engineers, this field camp will be used to train Infantry and Guards battalions. Full-time National Servicemen and Operationally Ready NSmen can stay in the field for up to two weeks at a stretch.

When Sanyangkong Field Camp is ready, SAF units will also be able to conduct training on the island itself, thereby cutting back on the need to train overseas.

Two weeks at a stretch?!! Good luck to all future NSF & NSmen. 4 days of defense ex and i get bitten by sandflies all over and suddenly, having no rest is the least of the problems.... and the air is still and humid

gd for bn ex but I think a bit small for bde ex.
