I tink if u got history of heat stroke then u can get downgraded. Flat foot...no no.

Plantar Faciitics - Anyone got this before?
what happened? Did u manage to downgrade or anything? its very painful when i do prolonged standing....but lan lan now coz no posting yet, still have to do guard duty... who can i go for help?

In current SAF ruling there will be no downgrade for flat feet and you are able to perform normal combat duty.

I got mine.But it was severe flat foot with bone structure probs in my sole.I cannot stand for long too..but it all depends on a case to case basis.There is no “automatic” downgrades.But you could be excused guard duties..that might be possible.

yes, the thing is tat while being stuck at my unit...and my "platoon", my condition right now......when scheduled Guard Duty...not enough people to replace...so lan lan endure till i Sad ....really can cry.....unless u exp. the pain yourself...., the thing is really acute and unbearable.....esp with boots..

if i dun get downgrade or anything...which combat unit/vocation wld not require prolonged standing and excused boots?

Please help.....I am really at loss and suffering.

I talked to MO, all they can do is to give medical status; ex. guard duty, drills etc.. but e situation its not so simply (i cant elborate anything more here)...
also pain killers, when I take them..i feel damn giddy to do any work..

and once, i took some coz of guard duty.... i almost cant remember wad was i doing a min ago...entire state of mind is in blank state.
but if i dun take painkillers, i cant even stand for 1 hr straight.....

Besides santry(pure standing) and prowling, what are the other stuff you will do in it?

Before NS, or evening during BMT, how did u go thr those days with boots and not having sever pain?

before enlistment and jc time got already......
BMT never do guard duty at all......

aft e route marches..
esp e 24 km one, things turned to a lot worse..
i even fall out for my POP rehearsal...coz i cannot endure e standing pain

i told MO before enlistment, and during FFI aft my BMT , they simply take in e acct tat i pass my IPPT and finish my 24km route march without any falling out, which means i can still take it....tat's y pass my FFI and get me into such shit!

Severe cases of plantar fasciitis is not to be sneezed at.People have blacked out due to the pain and numbness of the foot on parade before.

A good doctor can make the distinction between severe and mild.And he or she should be clear enough to know if it warrants an immediate downgrade.It may seem small to many now, but if you have read up on this condition, you will realise that prolonged standing will cause more and more deteriotation of your membrane.

Don't play with this condition, it is something that stays with you for life. Evil or Very Mad

exactly...it happened once...i simply fall down but didnt black out during parade... i told my sgts, they simply put it off say i didnt rest enough and not drink enough water... Rolling Eyes

shld i go and see a specialist and tell him?

Your sgts are not informed about this matter, therefore they might have thought you were malingering.Ignorance is the worst thing a commander can show to his men.I and two other guys fainted on parade before, and after that, my CO came to us and even offered to send us to the medical center on the spot.

Yes.It's important you tell your specialist everything that happened, especially if you think your foot caused it.Don't be afraid of your specialist.If you do not trust him, you can always ring up another hospital and seek a second opinion.

Maybe you could PM me your hospital you are seeing your specialist at?

One doesn’t need to be flat-footed to get plantar fasciitis. The plantar fascia which supports the arch of the foot becomes worn or inflamed but the arch doesn’t collapse. I’ve been affected before, back in secondary school and subsequently once in a while. Still PES B and it returned only once during a route march.

but its affecting my life as a combat nsf very badly..i cannot do prolonged standing, regimental duties such as guard duty , drills etc..

if i dun get a change of voc. ,i am bound to further injure my feet
