This quarelling is very childish.

To Nathan..... Everybody is different. Some people handle stress well some don't. It really does not make them a faggot. And it does not mean that all faggots are mentally weak as well. You have to accept that not everyone is as garang as you. Stop teasing him already. I think he kinda got the point.

To Watson..... Stop complaining already. You are in PES C. There is hardly anything for you guys to do in BMT. Esp. now that you are OOC you really do nothing. Remember that EVERY male in Singapore goes thru BMT. This should put some perspective as to how mentallly weak you are. Just for your information I hope that your stress and suicide threats are real because if it is merely to worm your way out of trainning, the records will stain your career path. If you are truly stressed and depressed, speak to your OC, MO. Make sure you take your medications so you don't do anyhting silly in camp and stress out everyone...

i got your point..but the thing that piss me off is..there is nothing to stress abt in BMT..u dun need to do much thinking..just follow instruction..tats all..do wat they tell u to do...where is the stress?

if he think there is so much stress as a recruit...wat happen if he goes to unit?

He will never make it to unit as a combat soldier. He will become a desk boy/cleric somewhere. Anyway I think it is better for such individuals to be desk bound. Can you imagine the problems they might give during the stresses of war. Who knows they might become a liability

hi. welcome here! since u r the first MO at this forum, perhaps u could help us dispel some myths? like the common questions: wat can downgrade, wat kind of medical support before and during ns, etc. there seem to be quite a few cases of ppl complaining that their medical conditions were ignored when they went for medical checkups at cmpb. perhaps you could help us advise them on the proper channels to seek redress? thanks! My 2 cents worth:-

I think this is going to be the trend in the future, with the standard of education rising. More pen holders will be expected.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying pen holders will turn out to be sissy but as our next generation does not taste hardship before and grew up in the world where their parents take care of everything. I just expect more and more this kind people who just can't take NS as a whole.

Well...just my thought.

i am about to be enlisted, Aug 2004, BMTC, PES A

1 for the swimming test in BMT,
with goggles?
can swim in free style?

2 for ptp, what is the daily life in there like?
can book out?
heard that there is a test in week4, once i pass that, i dun have to go back for the remaining of PTP and get back only for BMT?

1. goggles bring urself. swim in any style.
2. ptp - mostly physical training and discipline. to ease the recruits into military life. quite senang lah. and book out during weekends as per normal. o cos 1st 3 wks confined is standard.
there are ippt disruption tests along the way in ptp, and yes if u can pass any of those u can get to disrupt and come back only for bmt.

1. PTP, what must i bring in on the day of enlistment? beside those mentioned in th enlistment letter? those that are considered as essentials, but not mentioned?.
2. what kind of bags is appropriate?

hm. breast stroke is easier than front crawl (front style is not a style btw - it only means any style)

there is no need to buy a duffel bag - they are going to issue it to you. it wont be wise carrying a duffel bag there when they are expecting u to carry a civilian bag. some of the specs there cannot stand ppl who are too siao on or who 'act smart' Wink , no matter how good ur intentions are.

and there is no need to be ganjiong cos u r the only son! in fact ur parents should be more ganjiong than u! anyway single childs are common nowadaes. they are not going to treat u different cos of tt.
