wat i meant was, i heard all dese "mono intake", but i dun understand wat it means? Confused

mono intake means u go directly to ur unit during enlistment...u will not go tekong for ur bmt...combat battalions like infantry, armour, artillery as such haf mono intake...usually for hokkien pengs( there are exceptions)... will stay as man for their ns life....they haf bmt in their unit...usually no chance for command sch...but some ppl who haf bmt in tekong will kena to join these mono intake batches to replace ppl who haf downgraded etc..not realli sure abt the elite forces(commandoes, ndu)...but they haf direct enlistment n bmt in their unit...

For commando also same..ONLY mono intake (unless sign on after tekong BMT)
However, after commando BMT, about half will be posted out of CDO and can go to another vocation..the rest will stay till they ORD..

some mono-intakes too have a "2nd intake" after the tekong BMT, where some people are posted to these units.

eg: police, cdo, etc etc

i've mentioned the normal mono intakes of armour, infantry n such having wat u called a "2nd intake" where ppl are trained n put into the mono intake batches after bmt in tekong...as such, u may haf A level ppl frm tekong joining the so called hokkien pengs in the mono intakes...do police n cdo haf such practise also? or are they for the command schs...like NSPI?

yep, it happens.
probably due to not enough ppl after OOC, or simply not enough people posted in the first place
