During NS time:-
Many things. Including a FM radio, extra food. Latest letter from
girl friend then etc etc.
During reservist time:-
None of the above !
One water bottle only but 2 pouches, the other bottle is left in
the full pack. One pouch with outside rations ! Plus mobile phone,
PDA, maglite,small book to read. Carried one of those "sungei road"
green canvas bag for the military stuff (i.e. map, NVG, compass,
pens , spare telt whatever). Cannot lug around too much stuff, as
my reservist job at that time was to coordinate between CPs, and
involved a lot of "tent visits". We have to lay down our stuff at
some point or other in the commanders' tents. So have to watch out
for stuff being nicked or just lost. See other posting on pistol. I
usually entrust the small canvas bag to someone else, and just wear
my ultra light SBO for the briefings.
