For those who thinking of AWOL. Ok I'll try to recall what I can about life in the Detention Barracks.

You will be kept in a cell of either 1 or 3 detainee... You won't be sharing a cell with 1 person, this is to prevent any homosexual activities from happening. You'll be only sleeping on the hard cement floor with 2 blankets(used and dirty)

5am. Wake up, brush teeth followed by breakfast consisting of 2 or 3(forgotten) pieces of bread with a mug of coffee/tea/milo. After that nothing to do till 8am or 9 am.

8am/9am. Drill/Sandbag regime.(very tough)

12pm. Lunch. Rice with 1 meat and vege. Then till 1.30pm or 2pm, another round of Drill/Sandbag.

6pm. Dinner, like lunch 1 meat and 1 vege, brush teeth then wait for roll call(counting heads) then wait for lights off ard 9pm.(no more food till 5am)

Repeat the above for the rest of yor days sentenced remaing..

no wonder last time i went DB to fetch a detainee, from outside can hear voices shouting out "left right, left right..." this goes on for more than 1/2 hours.

Very few females go AWOL cos unlike the guys, the army is their ricebowl mah... career at stake leh Wink

But i dun think they have facilities for female detainees though by law, i believe ladies can be sentenced to DB too..

Actually only the 1st time ppl are so jialat. Those who go in DB second time don't have the sandbag pt everyday, only twice a week.

I was SUS in DB. Go in few times already. sianz.

the highest rank of personnels that i have heard awol is PFC n i never heard regulars going awol as well.

but awol for too long can be treated as desertion or even defection is it?

I go DB for AWOL and fail urine test. DB remind me of RTC. Prison life never easy so just lan lan get use to it. Or else you will be miserable everyday.

Which one’s worse – DB or civilian prison? (ok, other than the fact that civilian prison inmates will have a criminal record..)

errrr i think if u go to DB on criminal charges like assault and drug u’ll still have criminal charges…...btw crewcutboy have u ORD or still in NS.

when u got this info..bro..i was in DB 4 awol charges and e rotine r e same except there's no afternoon drill/sandbag..

Those who go DB got type "A1" and "SUS". The SUS usually are longer term one, like few months or more. They no need to do afternoon sandbag PT. Those A1 only go in few weeks at most so must do more and kena tekan more jialat.

I last time kena lockup before at mooncresent prison. I can tell you DB life is abt the same as prison.

And yes hair of course shave botak. Shorter than recruit style. You go in that time is worse cos after they shave you the hair all over your body and cannot bathe.

I still NSF now. Go in DB 3 times. 1 time during recruit time cos AWOL. 2nd time fail urine test. 3rd time kena caught selling vcd. Go prison already come out go DB. ORD still must wait long long. Sad
