I vaguely remember the backing colour (behind the stars) has got something to do with whether its COA, CNV or CAF's car. Red being Army, Blue is either navy or airforce.... it has been too long, can't remember. I stand to be corrected on this though.

And yes, if you're in uniform (and if you can be bothered) and you see COA in the car, you would salute him.

one day, walking back home from camp, u are walking back to ur block, u see a say a 1 star general walking towards you (but he is not WALKING TO YOU), what are u suppose to do. (both of you are in uniform).

whether shld salute or not, ask yr heart, if u respect him. he wearing slipppers, shorts and ah pek singlet u salute.

if not, he aim rifle at u, u also look away.

yea its normal. an air force 2 star stays at my place. the 2 star plate is put on the car to indicate that the general is the car. if hes not in, they will flip the plate over to show the black side
