Five teens nabbed by police for vandalism at roof-top of
Toa Payoh HDB block
The police on Friday arrested five teenagers in connection with the
high-rise vandalism at the rooftop of a Toa Payoh HDB block - just
two days after their alleged act of graffiti was spotted by
residents.
The suspects, all 17-year-olds, are now facing charges of vandalism
with common intention for the incident at Block 85A, Lorong 4 Toa
Payoh, said a police spokesman on Saturday.
The five were seen being brought to the State Courts on Saturday
morning. If convicted, the boys could each be jailed for up to
three years or fined up to $2,000, and receive at least three
strokes of the cane.
The vandalism involved graffiti painted on the wall at the roof of
the 22-storey block with expletives seemingly directed at the
People's Action Party and the police.
