Conversion

Hi there… I know that many of you have heard of army officers converting to air force officers, but are there cases where its the other way round? Need to know this because I am interested to convert into an army officer. Thanks.

so i guess you are an airforce officer now. well, if one way is possible, the other should also be. you just have to go through the relevant courses as an officer. but that said, i think there are certain age restrictions for trainees at OCS. you may want to find out about that first. all these of course only if you are a regular.

btw, what's your current vocation, and why the desire to convert? and which vocation do you intend to go to?

Thanks for the prompt reply... Very Happy Nope, I'm a naval officer... been wanting to convert ever since I commissioned last year. I have always been more interested in army stuff, but due to some other factors, decided to sign on with the navy. Deeply regret that decision now, cos the job's not giving me the satisfaction I want. If I were given the chance to convert, I would choose Guards. But the biggest problem I face now is my LSA. Since its given by the navy, the general feedback I get from peers is that it would be near impossible to do so.

oh.. that is indeed an added complication. i guess that really underlines the importance of career planning! well. i guess you can try to find out if its possible to transfer your award across service. you may wish to consider writing a letter to the guy who heads the manpower and career planning branch of the navy. but do keep your boss (if you have one) informed. Wink
