Hazi...

GCC > Guards Conversion Course. That is for man.

GNCC or GSCC > N stand for NCOs and S stand for specialist. NCOs was no longer used, that how GSCC come about.

GOCC > Guards Officer Conversion Course.

Question When (date) and at where (which camp) did you take your GSCC?
you sure you are a GUARDS Spec.

GSCC - Guards Specialist Conversion Course - you are a guards specialist right?

GNCC - Guards NCO Conversion Course - the old name given in the past.

That's what he's talking about.

Joshua1975 SG

A note of caution to all of you wishing fervently to be Guardsmen. It is not just about the cool factor and the fearsome militaryimage that you see on the advertisments.Danger, and high-risk training is there.Just keep your eyes peeled if you do become one. It’s not as easy as you think right now.

Bejean SG

Went to SISPEC, was never referred as an NCO, that wasn't my time. Reckon its GSCC i had taken.

Watever it is, Guards Conversation Course is a course, are u going to nitpick?

Bejean SG

Chances are i will never go for the course. But my OC, CSM, PC, Sect Cmdrs and Men all call me Platoon Sgt. Btw do give examples of how is it possible that all platoon sgts to be made available to go for the PS course. So what is your problem?

Once again are u going to nitpick? Anyway if it makes u happier....i was never a Guardsman... Rolling Eyes

Bejean SG

Didn't know of any snipers in 1st Guards in 1996.....or even now.

bcoy SG

anyways............... which div is your unit in now?Which year of ICT?
I used to be from 1st Gds, B Coy - a long, long time ago.

Bejean SG

You were also from 1st Guards Bravo Company?!! I was 8th mono intake...remembered my CSM was SSGT Suresh (with rangers tab). Currently still with 634th Guards.

How about you? Very Happy

StRiKeMaN SG

When will dat be usually?

The Guards Logo

The Wings - These are to represent the Guards' heliborne capabilities.

Bayonet and Laurel - These are symbols of the Guardsmen's superior skills as infantry soldiers.

"Ready to Strike" - This is the motto adopted by the Guards, which is to be ever prepared to strike against the enemy.

Gold - This colour is associated with loyalty (to the nation), devotion (to our duty) and dedication (to the task that has been set before us).

bcoy SG

I was there in 1990. All CSMs, the RSM and CO were commando/SOF, back then.

Which year of ICT are you at?

Joshua1975 SG

nitpick or not depend on how you look at it? if cannot comment anything, than the topic should not be Guardsman FAQ - Especially for Specialist and Men.

Joshua1975 SG

??? it only PS course and why cannot made available to go. it had shorten the course to 3 weeks. each coy had 3 PS and each take turn to go. any problem with that? just for 1 work year, i had all my 3 PS go for the PS course.

nitpick??? maybe and no, it never make me any happier even if you say you are just a cook.

Bejean SG

Finished 2 high 3 low, still a long way to go. 1990 was way before my time, u should be 4th or 5th mono intake?

My 1st CO wasn't from school of CDO, just a regular Guardsman, later 2nd CDO was even from Artillery! My CSM stayed the same, he was originally from Infantry then gotten his Ranger tab and his Guards Beret later.

Bejean SG

Alright, PS Course takes 3 weeks, we are now reservist and we all dun like to go for course. And yes i am very relutant to do so.

Seems that u are an OC? or even a CO, perharps u do not have manpower shortages, but sadly we at 634th are facing this big problem. If they aren't any shortages, i would never be a PS now.

You just don't see the point do u? Instead of asking questions nicely, kindly ask yourself how u started this?
