Regarding the sticky threads here

Gordonator SG

hi, i'll like to have a general idea on what u as regulars posters of the SAF forum think of the sticky threads here. do u think there are too many sticky threads? if so, which threads do u think should be unsticked as to provide easiler reading of the new threads?

any other feedbacks and comments is welcomed. mods are welcomed to give comments too. Wink

thanks for the initiative! i still remember what you did last time too, consolidating the sticky threads, and dropping some. seems like it has grown again within this short span of time!

yes, some of the more remotely visited sticky threads can be dropped, e.g. the acronyms one. some of those that are still rather popular, such as the questions for MO, and some more important ones (imo) such as the FAQ for recruits, should stay. and we would have to be more prudent when it comes to making threads sticky from now on.

Gordonator SG

i'll thinking of dropping those vocation FAQs like the Medic Medic, Guardsman, Combat engineers and Logistics. but of course i must seek the permission of the mod who stick them up in the first place. Wink

anyway i will like to hear the point of view of our regular posters as well. Wink

LoVeMeLoVeMenOt SG

Well there is 14 sticky threads over SAF forum, I suggest we should remove those that are unpopular & try to keep it neat.. For example Medic Medic or others..Well of cos we still need more suggestion from other forumites.

LazerLordz SG

duplicated.

LazerLordz SG

Hmm, I’ll unstick my Professionalism 101.I think the “Signing on FAQ” is not very popular.I think they can post their queries in the respective vocational FAQs.

Gordonator SG

hmm.. how come only mods are talking. regular posters please give us some feedbacks too. Wink

nismoS132 SG

aiya now the forum in this kinda unsurfable condition, very hard to post. anyway i think these threads should go.

guardsmen FAQ
SCE FAQ
sispec FAQ
OCS FAQ
logistics FAQ
professionalism 101
ORD thread
acronyms
medic medic
ask MO (mo like disappear liao)

Gordonator SG

out of 14 sticky threads u want 10 to go. Shocked
the SISPEC, OCS and MO thread is definately staying. Wink

thank you for your feedback, any more? Wink

LazerLordz SG

Let's keep the formation FAQs and dump the ORD thread , the Acronym thread, the Professionalism 101, and merge the Medic/MO and PES status into one Health and Safety in SAF thread.

nismoS132 SG

then i think it would be a better idea to have the formation FAQs all merged into 1 too.

either that or un-stick all of them, but create a sticky with the links to those threads. currently thereŕe too many of them and itś taking up alot of space.

Gordanator Hey,,Can you tell me more about the Vocation of the guards and infantry to their training to their Vehicles..What does infantry and guards do?

chikopek SG

I agree there are too many sticky down here

Gordonator SG

u can refer to here:
Guards http://www.mindef.gov.sg/army/guards_index.htm

Infantry http://www.mindef.gov.sg/army/infantry.htm

Gordonator SG

hey that's a good idea. we can unstick all those formation FAQs and provide links to them in the "Combat arms of the army" thread. Razz thanks, 1 day off for you. Mr. Green

so what does the other mods think?

wuming78 SG

yes. nismo's idea is indeed good!

LazerLordz SG

Then it will be just SAF : The Combat Arms, The Service Arms, The Logistics Arms. ?

Smile

Sounds good people?

Gordonator SG

ok, if there's no problems i'll go work on merging the various formation FAQs links to the "combat arms of the army" thread now. Mr. Green
