Hey guys, I got posted to be an MP, and I have urgent questions about being an MP:
1. As part of MP training, must we go outfield?
2. Must we put camo cream?
3.I heard there are 10 weeks of basic training where it's stay-in.. is it 5-day week or 5 and a half day week for Mowbray camp?
3. Do we get to book out/in in civvies?
4. Is there any way during the 1st 10 weeks where we can state our preference of our future posting within MP?
5. Is it totally stay-in for the first 10 weeks?
6. While doing PT/other training, do we still wear those grey ARMY tanktops/admin shirts, or are there "MP" tanktops/shirts that we now wear?
7. How xiong is the PT sessions/commanders in general? Is it worse than in BMT? Are they fiercer/stricter?

From what i understand from a friend who was an MP from '01 to '03, MP training is very slack, with only basic fire and movement drills and these are done in the basketball court (dunno if it's still like that). The rest of the time would be on things like Control and Restraint, Military Law, as well as Technical Handling for weapons like the M203 and the GPMG.

But again, this was the case way back in '01...

One final question…what’s the highest rank an NSF MP can attain? And usually, how long will it take and if there is a special requirement?

Highest rank for an NSF MP = LTA.
But these are infantry-trained officers who subsequently got posted to SAFPU.
Similarly, specs are SISPEC-trained guys..
I think for MPs who go in direct from BMTC => CPL

Hmmm...another question...if I were to enter MP direct from BMT...is there a way to get 3SG rank as an NSF. Will there be any chance to express interest to go to SISPEC for BSLC/ASLC?

And as for intake...the warrant officer giving the introductory speech at BMT before the interviews said they take in 100 to 200 every batch I think...

Oh ya...probably a stupid question but I'm still a greenhorn to army stuff...are MP's considered combat? Do they get $100 more?

All questions answered...MP seems so slack...first day and I already got a canteen break...and a nights out!!! Razz At home slacking now...I stay at choa chu kang...so it's so near the camp...hehex...feeling that it's a great vocation for slacking, and our platoon sergeant told us 80% of the 9 week course are lectures...muahahax...
