Hmmm…I don’t know but during my field camp at BMT we just used wooden twigs which were of similar length and size…are the arc of fire sticks that important?

Yeah...but as the name suggests, it's an arc. So your line of fire isn't like a "straight road" but like an opening fan...

Something like that...where "_" represents where the soldier is, and the "\" and "/" represent the arc of fire.

it's mostly used by soldiers in trenches.
Trenches are often 2 layers or more in staggered positions.

each solder in his trench will a small area in front of his trench that he's supposed to take care of, and it's mark by the angel between the 2 arc of fire stick

ok so basically with the sticks in fornt of us, when we shoot, we try not to knock down the sticks so as to prevent cross fire right? as your fellow soldiers might be very close to u right? Question

yep, and it's usually together with range card. In case a soldier is down, someone taking over the trench will have a clearer picture of what is in front and what to expect

anyway, surely there must be more interesting uses for it right? like setting up of traps to catch small animals. anyone tried before?

the arc of fire sticks, even when black taped to be tactical and taped 2 pieces of illuminating tape as the eyes of the sticks, prove to be really IMPRACTICAL!

why? cuz lets say you push in your sticks, but due to your night admin or walking around or something, the sticks may lean or even collapse from its erect position...., then you push them back in, but becomes inaccurate already right?? i personally think its just for show...

well unless you "monkey"-ramped the stick until its at least 1/3 way in! Twisted Evil

one thing i nv comprehend was that when you put your face nearer to the sticks the arc widens and vice versa. so when u prone on open ground with it.. (habouring) then u keep moving about.. wtf

Lol…I rmbr during field camp, I hid my buddy’s fire sticks on purpose. He reported it as lost and got to do night sentry that night…hehex…later I returned it to him and he was so furious. But I think he’s pretty dumb IMO…shouldn’t have reported lost…keke

u dont put your face near it....u put the tip of the rifle barrel near it
and when you're in the trench/shellscrape,your position doesnt vary very much. You dont use it when u prone on open ground

tie comms cord to the holes. poke the sticks into the ground. and u can get ur basha easily…

we dun bring demo hooks everytime we go outfield mah… whereas the arc of fire sticks are always at the back of our sbo…
