May I know under what circumstances will a 2WO promoted to 1WO, a 1WO being promoted to MWO and MWO promoted to SWO?

Does performances and length of serving played a big part?

wuming78 SG

it is just as any other promotions:

time norm, performance, years of service left, available appointments.

u r not already in that region rite??

chikopek SG

Just curious only Neutral

Gordonator SG

before been promoted in rank, they must be promoted in grade first.

Joshua1975 SG

almost all but some white horse or bule eye boy WOSE, will get a grade and rank promo together.

Gordonator SG

just curious, how many grades must they achieve before they can be promoted in rank? Question

cornyfish2000 SG

If it's anything like for officers, then it's 2 grades per rank.

LTA 1 -> LTA 2 -> CPT 1 -> CPT 2 -> MAJ 1 -> MAJ 2

Gordonator SG

then for MAJ and above, there will be more grades right? Question

cornyfish2000 SG

I'm not too sure about that, too high-powered for me liao.. i think the regulars would have a better idea. Wink

Gordonator SG

ok thanks anyway, i ask wuming ge. Wink

So for warrant officers it's also the case?

nismoS132 SG

my IC just went for his JWOC, he said the youngest one there is only 30.

i was wondering..since being a WOSE got pp1 and pp2...

most specs in pp1 would probably be working their butts off to get pp2...

i was wondering..wat must a spec go for or go thru to secure the pp2?any courses he must attend?

or issit up to the ppl 'up' there?

erm..care to elaborate more on grade?issit like a minimum time period u gotta go thru in a certain rank?

wuming78 SG

its the same general criteria of performance, years of service left, potential to hold higher appointments, and more specific criteria to the vocation or service, e.g. clearing certain ROA courses, meeting certain requirements

Gordonator SG

ok please correct me if i'm wrong.

but i don't think there are many SWO in singapore right? cos SWO are those formation RSMs, SAF RSM, army RSM, airforce RSM, navy RSM right? so it's very hard for MWO to be promoted to SWO, unless any of the above retired or something.
