Non combatants being posted to camps far from their home

chikopek SG

Is it true that personnels (particularly non-combatants) who lives in the East have the higher chances of being posted to camps which are far from their homes as there are more camps in the West side compared to the East?

I have friends (non combatants) who lives in Tampines but was posted to camps in Choa Chu Kang area and so far I have not heard any non-combatants living in the West being sent to camps like Bedok, Selarang, Pasir Ris, Hendon, Pulau Tekong etc

Is it?! Which means for the past 1/1/2 years, my cohort including me were screwed. Laughing

Geforce3 SG

not true, it depends on intake…..

Gordonator SG

it all depends on CPC. they are the one in charge of your posting.

i got friends who live near their camps and friends posted to far away camp like living in jurong posted to tekong, bedok posted to yishun. me myself is one of them jurong to yishun.

I guess it's kind of a luck thing..
Some people get camps close to their place, while some get camps at the other end of Singapore..

one-niner SG

really depends on your posting man ..especially those with combat vocations, chances are you will be posted to combat units, and most of these units are in pretty far sides of singapores...go and think of most of the army camp locations, which one is easily accessible, with the exception of MINDEF,CMPB etc..

Gordonator SG

come to think of it, there’s only 3 or 4 camps in the east…

Patrik SG

Ya loh..depend on luck la...

More than dat lah:
Bedok, Hendon, Selarang, Pasir Ris, Tekong + Changi Air Base, Changi Naval Base, Paya Lebar Air Base Wink

deathscythe99 SG

Shldnt count the Air and Naval Bases...if you're talking about Army pers Smile

Moreover, it depends on CPC, like what Gordonator said. Depends on ppl who ORD, and ppl who get re-voc due to whatever reason (upgrade and stuff)..

Yeah. You can’t pick or choose your posting like picking fruits are the markets.
