Coming from PTP, I can tell you that it is the best period in
the whole of your NSF life, after the last few months before your
ORD. You get to sleep the most during the day.
But then again, this is company dependant. There was this guy in my
platoon now, he told me his BMT company had stand-bys each time
they had free time.
The BMTC company in question? Taurus. (To be fair, they also had
tons of canteen break, though my friend's platoon loved stand by
beds during these breaks...)
