Anyone tried RT deferment before???

Hi guys, I'm new and a big hello to you all.

I'm gonna kena RT soon. However, the RT schedule will crash wif my part-time degree study.

My question is: Will I be able to defer RT, if for example I finish the 4-week phase 1, and have to defer phase 2 to another schedule because of my studies??

How shld I go about it?

And wld the success rate be high?

I advise you to call your NS Branch as they’ll be able to tell you if you can defer. After that, you’ll probably have to send in a written letter for them to process.

I'll definately give them a call. But I'm just wondering if anyone has defered RT b/f.

mm, fax in a request to your NS Unit.
remember to include all relevent supporting documents.....

Deferment for RT is not like ICT deferment, where the guidelines are really fixed and rigid........ though there are generally a few conditions under which an NSman is eligible to be deferred for RT, part time studies isn't one of them.......
Yours would probably come under compassionate grounds......

Remember to call up regularly to remind the clerk in charge of your case to process it ASAP.

And finally please submit your deferment request ASAP as well. Some NSmen submit deferment requests the day before the RT starts......... deferments aren't processed instantly..... got to go up to the higher authorities...... it'll take time....... so pls do yourself and your IPPT/RT clerk a favour, fax in early (3-4 wks in advance)
