why m16s are to replace by sar 21s?

anyone know why they invented the SAR 21??? wat i read from a book it says that the m16 has stopped its productions 4 years ago (in 2000). maybe because of this "we"' invented the sar 21for our men to use.

anyone else know why they come up the SAR21???

Anyone got comments after using SAR21?

My comments after testing it at 100m range during ICT, firing only 20 rounds day and night:

Scope no big deal lah... Only 1.5x manification...
Pity the left handers... must fire like a right-hander, cos ejection port on the right.... what's the bloody point of having ambidextrous cocking handle then??? Rolling Eyes
In-built LAD: Cool... but at night... which one is mine huh??
IA once during range, no feeding, after tap mag okie liao...
Quite easy to strip and assemble... like SAW.. Smile

Only 20 rounds so don't know if it's prone to IA or not?
ANyone field test it before, ie drag it over mud, sand, saltwater and still can fire?

i'm a leftie and i can say about the sar 21 is that even leftie like me using right hand is no problem. at the AOH 04 i got 4 out of 5 shots hit Razz so if i really in the combat line of work i would have no problem using sar 21 with my right hand Very Happy bad thing is i not able to go for combat. enlisting tomorrow Neutral

My friend in Guards likes it, went river crossing and fired one full mag on auto straight out of the water, didn't IA. My friend in cdos. hates the thing though, picks lots of faults with it.

Personally, I'm with the SAR21, though I have yet to seriously try it out and my experiences have mainly been with the M16 family of arms. But there are several issues that the SAR solves, and it is certainly easier to maintain then the M16 for sure. Though in the days ahead in SISPEC I will get to play with it somewhat so we'll see how yah?
