ah-soh SG as we noe the relationships between taiwan roc n s'pore r very bad at the moment n they also brunt our flags do u think that saf should suspends all their trainings and activities in roc as to protest taiwan's action?
SibeiSuayKia SG got free place to make use..why not?? we go to hainan island train lar..no problem..furthermore..hainan island got some airstrip facilities and even if a war happens.. TW won't strike Hainan island 1...Hainan island is also nearer to SG.. our SAF troops are our utmost priority when it comes to safety.. Shouldn't train with them.. coz if fighting occur due to the burning of sg flag...
wuming78 SG think the issue has been blown out of proportion. our official relations have not been seriously affected. it is the case of the people over-reacting, probably due to their media inflaming emotions - not surprisingly.
deathscythe99 SG We should not quit ROC la... Anyway, not all ppl in Taiwan hate us wad. Only the politicans and flag burners do. Just because a couple of ppl burn the flag and scold us doesn't mean all in Taiwan hate us.
PatrickLTH SG Don't worry, it is only a storm in a tea cup. It will soon blow over. So far the issue had been handled very nicely.
chikopek SG It sounds weird having this kind of military relations with a communist country. If I was not wrong one of the reasons that S'pore set up its own armed forces is to fight against the communists. However I do think that maybe it would be more appropriate if SAF suspends its ROC trainings till things had turned better.
NathanG5 SG its a new world now..the cold war is long over..the fight against commies are long overdue n expire.. comintern doesnt exist anymore..
NathanG5 SG think he is toking abt the recommendation to shift the training ground to Hainan Island..
Cpl Ho SG Err… think if i didn’t remember wrongly, LKY said our immediate threat after separation was our neighbour, cos of the unpleasantness of separation… So I dun think SAF was set up to deal with the communists at first…[/quote]
