Questions abt PTI's ranks

Gordonator SG

hi, wanna know how PTI get their rank. lookng at this pic:

Q1) how come only so few rank for PTI? does that mean PTI can only be 3SG, SSG, 2WO, 1WO?

Q2) PTI cannot be 2SG or 1SG or MSG is it?

Q3) can sign on as PTI is it? since there's SSG, 2WO and 1WO PTI rank.

Can, its called Fitness Instructor...

But you will be terminated if you unable to attain top 10% ranking during the PTI course...

chikopek SG

Most of the PTI in Tekong is 3sg.

BTW I have heard that those BCCT instructors are only privates, LCP or CPL.

Gordonator SG

i seen before the 2WO PTI for kilo company in tekong, chief PTI i heard.

chikopek SG

Oh that Malay encik PTI lah..........

I have seen him once during the SOC.......

erijazz SG

And for those guys before NS enlistment attending their NAPFA Test every wednesday at Toa Payoh Stadium, you can see there are 1 or 2 aged PTI who stand there supervising the conducting of the test... Those are at least a 2WO or 1WO PTI in rank. Mr. Green

Gordonator SG

ya, he look pretty fit sia. somemore he is very good to his recruits. seldom see him tekan his men before...

erijazz SG

He has been a instructor for so many years liao plus oso in OCS taking cadets and so on...

Gordonator SG

have any1 seen a 2SG, 1SG, SSG or MSG PTI before?

if not, how do they get to 2WO and 1WO? Question

erijazz SG

Of coz there are...
Places like BMTC of other units do have 2SG, 1SG, SSG and MSG

SISPEC should have 1 MSG there and some of the NAPFA and IPPT for NSmen test center too

Ponders SG

YEs there are ranks for 2SG 1SG SSG and MSG for PTIs...

but unless you sign on.. it is hard to go beyond 3sg. "new" policy dun really let NSF pti go to 2sg.

And for PTIs.... promotion is slow and most of the courses that leads to promotion are foreign courses.

Icemoon SG

Actually if you all go take non ICT IPPT, the biggest NCO fark there should be a warrant-rank PTI. He is the one who tells you a lot of stories. Very Happy

chikopek SG

MY PS in Pulau Tekong is 2SG yet he didn't sign on...

erijazz SG

It is possible to attain 2SG in rank for a NSF, for those who had attended the Platoon Sergeant Course in ASTW/SISPEC and hold the appointment of a platoon sergeant in unit or PWO in SISPEC for abt a year.

Icemoon SG

I thought this is only a local rank?

LazerLordz SG

Should be T/2SG during your NSF Platoon Sergeant term, then it might become S/2SG (NS) when you’re a NSman.

Ponders SG

READ properly lah. I meant 3sg PTIs seldom go beyond 3sg unless they sign on as PTI.

Infantry NSF 3sg usually can go to 2sg lah.

PTI is under Infantry, but they are of different vocation.
