dragonstar SG I received my letter this year too thanking me for my service :-) Hooray!!! You had 5 years before your first ICT - I ROD'ed in the middle of the year and had ICT in the same year !

specfore SG Hi, the time gap from my experience this year... I reached 40 a few months ago... is about one week. Your last reserve unit will send you a computerised letter (very impersonal) and tell you in one short sentence that yr liability is now over and thank you very much !
tkw88 SG ok, thanks, my case a bit more complicated, as I was on exit permit, and my last reserve unit was a brigade hq -- so may be they have forgotten about me...
specfore SG Hi TKW88 I am in the same boat as you. Was on exit permit (still am overseas working at the moment) but I received the computerised letter anyway. I heard from other friends that those who are earmarked for re-cycle as SCDF or something will get a later letter that is different. I was not recycled as my 6 years of reservist was totally high key. Good luck!
