Your friend wrong lah. Recruits who enlist will get about $450-$600 depending on which period of the month they enlist. The first pay is always alot becaus...

tetsumi SG

gd news for those enlisting!!! Very Happy

red_tide24 SG

r u sure or not? cannot be la..SAF wun anyhow review the salary one..especially when it juz reviewed it 2 yrs ago..maybe the 500 includes the advance pay which u will get b4 u enlisted?

tetsumi SG

yup sure...
my frens they juz kena enlisted last week.
now PTP at tekong, then yesterday they called to say pay is now $500

saintboy SG

wahh, means all the ranks should have pay increase? doesn’t make sense if a recruit’s pay is the same as a corporal’s.

red_tide24 SG

yah i agree... me now still NS leh.. my corporal pay only 450.. no increase wat.. maybe is a system error dat dey got more money.. ask ur fren dun happy first..they might deduct it frm his next pay..

Kaczynski SG

I also second his view that it might have been advanced pay. Maybe Recruit blur blur see "payslip" $500 thought increase allowance. That was wad i thought when i saw mine too..

kopiosatu SG

backpay?

chunyong SG

agree, i was overpaid when they backpay my Sgt pay, then ONE YEAR PLUS later they come bk to deduct...

tetsumi SG

hmm... maybe ba...
haha... cos quite a few of my frens enlisted last week.
then all c $500 maybe tot is pay is $500.
but my frens said is inside pple announce to them 1 lehz that their pay is $500.
think i gotta call up my frens tonite...

wuming78 SG

wah if it is true it is realli a substantial increase man esp since the last review was just not long ago...

wonder wats the motivation of this increase and why now...

loudmonkey SG

red_tide24 SG

500 is a very very big jump leh.. even more than a corporal’s pay!!! nah.. dun tink SAF so good..

Kaczynski SG

And not to mention it is slighly more than 2x of the $240 we had that time...

tetsumi SG

yeah... i dun think SAF is so gd oso...
meanwhile, i try to double confirm wif my frens.
will update u guys once i get the confirmation.
last nite they told me is confirm, but i think they dunno abt the advance pay or watever thing...

tetsumi SG

hey guys!
my fren now lunch sia... he juz called me to confirm
he say confirm recruit getting $500, not wat backpay or wat advance pay, is solid $500 for chao recruits!!!
but will only be starting from august 2004 onwards, meantime recruits will still be getting $350 till august 2004.
wah shiok liao sia... Mr. Green

ditzy SG

I want backpay!!! Twisted Evil

kopiosatu SG

wah piang recruits get so much now...

maybe this is an idea by SAF to boost morale?

tetsumi SG

i read from another forum that all ranks will get $150 pay rise from august onwards, but dunno how true this is cos is not 1st-hand news.
but the recruit getting $500 is 1st hand news n is confirm + guarantee + chop chop = Mr. Green

Peace84 SG

pap so good
i always support papa

PAP, WO YOJNG YUAN ZHI CHI NI!! Exclamation

wuming78 SG

so one of the reasons why mindef's budget was not cut is to supplement the allowances of nsfs...

im just curious at the increment esp since the last review was not so long ago..hm... distraction?
