i heard that bulletproof vest have at least up to level 5 protection which could withstand the 7.62 round but is quite heavey though. Neutral

Even tanks at its bare level has to take quite a beating from 7.62s. So, it definitely has to be damn thick.

yes, there is no.1 to 5 protection.

Anyway it just to prevent you from being killed instantly from rounds fire at a distance not at closed range.

yes, althought it has the stopping power but u will still get blue black if he hits ur vest. and it useless at point blank range thought. and importantly the shooter might mark u down from the side which ur arms is least protected.

Dun so gu niang leh, other armies like the US and the Brits use body armour as standard issue, and protest when they have to go into battle with a shortage of vests. And yes, their 6kg vests can stop 7.62.

Anyway, they found that using vests reduced deaths by over 70 percent as compared to other conflicts like Vietnam where the only protection for your torso was your No.4.

Dude i know mobility is adversly reduced with ballistic plates on, but when the rounds start flying past your head, you'd wish you'd had them on. somehow i feel very inquisitive whenever someone begins saying 'trust me', not that i am doubting you or what, but seriously, it's better to have and not-need rather than need and not-have. at least some form of body armor is better than NO body armor. probably a level iii or iv plate.
