broke my ankle, downgrade?

Hi all, i recently had a soccer accident and broke my ankle. I have a fractured ankle and just had an operation recently..i think its a fracture tibia..had a blade and screws inserted and the doc told me that its hard
to downgrade and he won't write me a downgrade letter. however, prior to the surgery, he said that i will be downgraded for about 1year..now he's saying another thing. I believe that there are alot of pple who downgrade their pes status because of fracture. Need advice on this..should i consult another doctor regarding this? thanks alot for input guys! cheers

it certainly sounds serious. and even if the doctor is not going to write any downgrade letter, there should be medical records to prove your condition?

but in the end, are you able to exercise normally? did the doctor recommend that you refrain from physical activities?

he say i will be excused heavy duties for 6months or more, won’t be able to exercise for a long time…i mean, what for?i am in a combat unit…the thing is, the first time i saw him, he told me that it looks damn serious..need to operate immediately and i didn’t even ask him and he say i will get abt 6mths mc and will be downgraded to clerical work till i ORD..and so i operated the same day i saw him…amonth after the operation, he told me that he won’t be writing me a downgrade letter..the MO won’t downgrade me..i feel cheated sial.haha…now, abt 45days after the op, i still cannot walk properly..i feel that its quite a bad injury.considering that next year, i will need to do another op to remove the blade inserted in my ankle..

there is medical records..but without a downgrade letter, the MO will not review a downgrade according to my friend...

i am no doctor, but assuming that the doctor is professional and competent, he should know what he is saying and doing. there could be improvements in the condition? perhaps he think you will recover in due course and hence a downgrade wont be necessary? did you ask him why he changed his mind? our own perceptions may be biased at times depending on how we view our own conditions.

anyway if u think the doctor has failed in some ways, it may be better to seek another doctor, or to seek redress. and also, its no point relying on hearsay especially when it concerns your own health. and it may be worth it to give it a try rather than pull back just because u think u will not be granted a review.

i know what u mean..but i feel the doc did not justify what he said previously....what he told me during my last visit was that 'the MO won't downgrade a broken leg'..to me, that have nothing to do with the condition of my ankle..he already knew from the start that it was a broken ankle and he told me that i will be downgraded..and not he is saying something else..know what i mean? i think i will see consultation from another doctor..sigh..must waste money again....

hm.. den r u unhappy for his inconsistency or with ur not getting the downgrade letter? hence if he is able to explain his inconsistency to ur satisfaction would u be happier? or do u need him to provide u with the letter?

i think its not abt what i expect from him....he told me that i will be downgraded and i always though that i will be downgraded..so now i just wanna get downgraded and i would know my injury best..evne a soccer player who broke his leg is out for action for a longggg period of time...
so its not abt what i want him to do, if he don't wanna recommend me a downgrade, then i will consult another doctor...

well, to me, its about what he said and he did said downgrading..and everyone in camp though i will downgrade...so i just wanna know from others opinion if i do have a case on downgrading....and when i mention abt what the doc told me, its kinda redundent..and yes..its about downgrading.
