Well, it comes down to the competition being for the best combat
unit, not the best infantry, armour or Guards unit. With such a
vague classification, there's no grounds for calling it an unfair
comparison - sorry, Aulf! 
As Temujin, in a rare moment of astuteness, notes, Cdo is expected
to win the competition. If they win, it's just another day. if they
lose, it's a disgrace. It's a double-edged sword, IMHO.
