How hard is it to get disruption? Is there a minimal month I must serve before I allow to get disruption? How do I apply for disruption?
Thanks.

various ways:

get a scholarship. u disrupt immediately and commence ur studies jus like the gals of ur age.

or

finish up about 2 yrs of ur ns, den apply for disruption wif ur manpower branch.

Only PSC and SAF scholars can disrupt, stat board and other govt bodies scholars must finish their service.PSC scholars must serve at least 15 months before getting out.

I did 19 months before I disrupted.

If I am not wrong, for non scholars, its something like maximun 6 months left before you can disrupt?

wah, power sia.. u PSC scholar har... wow...so smart.. mi O level nia Sad

psc scholars can disrupt at the earliest possible time for them to further their studies. this usually means the same time as the rest of their cohort, as though they are not serving ns. there are variations - for different countries of study.

but for psc local, they have to complete 2 yrs of ns.

Doenitz SG

Ya,I was refering to PSC local scholars.Forgot about those overseas scholar... Wink

what if I have another 9 mths to go…. well, the place given to me was 2005… so wat now? im no scholar…

wuming78 SG

from now till 2005, there is still quite some time - at least 6 months? by tt time u would have only 3 mths remaining. not much of an issue rite?

kindaichi83 SG

no, I enlisted on Oct 2003… supposed to ORD in Apr 2006 but now reduced to Feb 2006.. didn’t want to disrupt at first but the coz given to me was in Aug 2005, which means I still got at least 7 mths… so how?

wuming78 SG

hm.. aug 05 - feb 06 is a mere 6 mths - u jus got lucky!

i would advise you to approach your manpower dept to enquire. i think it is possible.

kindaichi83 SG

well.. thanks for helping.. i will ask around…

Eiizumi SG

simi si PSC?

wuming78 SG

psc = provisions and supplies corporation. Mr. Green

and also public service commission. Wink

Eiizumi SG

oic.

kindaichi83 SG

anyway, just curious, what u guys think about disruption?

wuming78 SG

means studying earlier and putting off ns.

implications - u chop ur ns up, rather than finishing it in one go; but u get to study while ur brain is still working. Wink

kindaichi83 SG

Well, thanks..

anyway, you know when should I apply and only under what circumstances will my application be rejected.

Anyway, the reason why I want to disrupt is because I do not want to waste 6 mths but it does sucks to come back after I graduate to serve NS again.
