If I am a regular, I wish I can be an Officer.
But since I was an NSF and now NSMen, I want to stay as men.
Why? I use to be in reservist unit in my NSF term. Have a chance to
come upon a new reservist unit, 1st ICT where most of the men just
ORDed a year before (mono-intake). Happen to have a few officers
that are over 40, near their 50s. Hair nearly all white already.
Look very sad.
Got a chance to talk to them when they came back from field,
according to them , they finish their 9 high keys already and their
previous unit has already step-down from service and their men
released from national service but because they are officers, bo
pian have to continue serving to 50 years of age. Being posted to
this new reservist unit where many of the officers are young.
Imagine a age 45 LTA and a 20 something LTA. Many say can't
communicate cause different in mindset. Most of them wish they are
men so that don't need to continue serving (except for those
siao-on officers, yup! over 40s already still siao-on!!!).
Hiaz...don't mean to suan officers but when you get to that age,
you might think differently from now.
