SAF training fatalities

To anyone out there who knows of any training fatalities over the years in SAF. Please post them here. I hope it'll highlight what's wrong in SAF and make training safer for fellow soldiers.

TO start off, I can only remember 2 incidents in recent years where and Arty gun exploded in NZ and a soldier died in Brunei jungles due to heat exhaustion.

Please feel free to elaborate on what you know on any incidents. May the souls of the unfortunate R.I.P.

1. air force cadet who suffered from heat stroke while in brunei for socjot

2. army cadet who shot his peer wif a gpmg during a break at a live firing ex.

Well….. During a safety brief while in brunei, the instructor say it average one death per year…. mostly heat injuries. The gpmg thingy is made into a safety video for live firing.

hmm, never see that video before. But brunei is really a hell hole for all foot soldiers in SAF. 7 knolls, Mt Biang, Sungei Batu Ah Poi, zebu track......... waaa..... Confused crazy place to be in. But I like the refreshing stream water and the so up to date radio channel that keeps playing the latest pop in UK!..

anyway, during my trip in brunei, 1 of my men kenna heat disorder while navex. lucky we're about 1-2km of the instructors chk pt. and we call in medivac immediately as his condition kept getting worse. thank god he is alright at the end of the day. I really don't want to go back to that hellhole again..... Rolling Eyes
