Everyone gets what they deserve.SG is built on offering labour to other contries. Act as cheap outsourcing for high tech. Exactly for this reason the corporates use SG as a place to get much work to be done for low price. Plus the people there are often said to me selfish,racist,self-centered and hankering after money. So what goes around comes around.

Thanks for your reply, Bio-hawk. I just feel it is quite sad, notice people around me working very hard and looking stressed most of the time so I think there must be some truth. I feel the pressure too, cost of living is going up every day. Does life have to be like that?

Well i do agree that life can be unfair.

But the fact remains that we have to survive. And we do what we can to achieve it.

Whilst i feel singapore is a stressful place to live in we shld try to make the most out of it. Accepting that it is a stressful place and making the most out of a bad situation is key. If you wallow in that notion too much u bcome pessimistic and life seems so much worse.

Yes in a way its self-delusional…but u hve to survive.

When a sick gazette sees a hungry lion it still tries to run away….cos its the best option it wants to survive.

or should we just earn sufficient to live by? is that advisable? what if it rains and we don’t have rainy day allowance?

Thats a tuff qn. I suppose the logical thing to do is look yerself hard in the mirror and ask what exactly u want out of life. Some ppl want to prove sumthing and being rich is part of that. Some want the family life and the $ is just a means toit…..some want to travel alot….some crave attention and being rich helps….some just luv collecting $.

So the real qn wud be wat do u rly rly want…..then formulate a plan

What shirt_less expressed is exactly the dilemma I am thinking about when I posed the question.

There's all this talk about work life balance lately and I know we definitely are not there yet compared to our overseas counterparts...yet can we give up the chase for money and survival and be content with a simpler life?? I think the whole education system and everything else makes it hard for us to do so since we have been taught from young to strive for 'success'.
