He changed the German flag when he overthrew the Weimar governement eventually... and put everything under his own dictatorship... (can't rem details of my history lesson). It's a symbol of the Third Reich (the same one that killed millions of Jews in the holocaust) and during German occupation of surrounding countries e.g. Austria, the people are ordered to hang these flags in front of their homes to pledge their support to Hitler and his army for the wars. If not, they will be sought out by the German Secret Police and branded traitors, or jews and sent to concentration camps or killed.

KittynMeow SG since Hitler supposedly died (since no one can prove for sure he committed suicide), and the war ended, anything that belonged to the Nazis or has a Nazi heritage became a collector's item for certain groups of ppl... just like how some ppl like to collect things that has something to do with Mao Zedong like that... It's quite cool...
