Does anyone know how to recite Tang poems in dialect? Does it
sound better in Hokkien, Teochew or Cantonese compare
to Mandarin?
Read somewhere that Tang Dynasty people did not speak Mandarin.
Is this ture? If that is the case, Tang Poems should not be recited
in Mandarin.
Yes I know and it is true. It sounds better in literary Hokkien
or Hakka or certain varieties of Cantonese compared to
Mandarin.
