Liverpool are reportedly ready to defy the doom and gloom surrounding their alleged financial woes and bid for Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City target Rafael van der Vaart.

The Times suggests Rafa Benitez is ready to offer Real Madrid £10 million for the Holland international despite seemingly having little, to no money to spend.

The newspaper intimates the talented former Ajax star is desperate to leave the Bernabeu following the arrival of Florentino Perez and his ambitious project, and a move to Premier League and the chance to play Champions League football, would be of great appeal to the 26-year-old.

Reports in Spanish publication Sport have claimed that Liverpool are in pole position to sign Dutch international Rafael Van de Vaart from Real Madrid. The 26-year-old playmaker has been told by the Bernabeu hierarchy that he has no future in the famous white jerseys and has been desperately searching across Europe for a new club. Having already rejected a move to former club Ajax and indicated that he does not want to stay in Spain, the former Hamburg man has made clear he pictures a future in either Germany, England or Italy. Linked with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, the mooted £11.5m fee could represent something of a coup for the Anfield outfit who have already spent £20m securing the services of Alberto Aquilani from AS Roma as a replacement for Xabi Alonso.

According to press as shown above , seems likely , where where the fuck we got our money ?

I thought the two fooking Americans has got only £1.5m for Benitez ? Not even good for a loan deal ....

Especially after we spent about £2m on that Greek Centreback .

£10m , i really dunno .

Of course he's a good addition to our current squad , but where does he play ?

Gerrard is our best person for that role behind the 2 forwards .

Yossi also can ...

After we got Aquilani , i even more suspicous about this rumour .
