Sport says Barca sports chief Txiki Begiristain sees
Mascherano as ideal cover for Seydou Keita and Yaya Toure, who will
miss part of next season due to the African Nations Cup.
Begiristain also intends to sell Eidur Gudjohnsen, who has filled
in at midfield in recent months.
Mascherano is the man Barca want. Indeed, never has Barca's
management been so united when discussing a transfer target.
The Argentina captain is aware of Barca's interest and is
willing to wait for the European champs to make their push
public.
