FA Cup 5th Round : Liverpool vs Barnsley

club18 SG

as a liverpool fan i would urge the owners to get rid of the arrogant benitez.

Medicated Oil SG

Sacking Ah Ben would not solve the problem, unless we can get another better manager.

But, the liverpool players have already adopted the play -lousy-before-the-CL-match habit.

Ah Ben is partly to blame for that attitude.

For a good game, please tune in to the Man Utd game now.

They just scored two goals against arsenal.

i believe the departure of rafa's asst manager has some effects as well.

hey www ..... u know ur stuff .

Yes i fully agreed , ever since the departure of Paco Ayesteran , Liverpool was never the same again .

Hope Rafa get him back to stablize the team , which i think to save face , Rafa will not do that .

Just hope DIC , the more likely new owner , will not employ Mourinho , cos Mourinho will maybe get Paco as Asst Coach .

Rumour that DIC don't believe Rafa can deliver the Elusive EPL title .

Maybe Rafa has sensed his days at Anfield are numbered .

kopiosatu SG

what's new?

different year, same shit.

benitez starting to be like houllier with all the weird tactics and playing players out of position.

www SG

when paco left rafa, he tot he could fill his shoes in conditioning the players but he simply try to do too much.

even his youth coach is complaining about his interferences.

kyut plays right wing so much so that he naturally drift to the right these days, even when he should be playing second striker. i am still trying to figure out why would you put someone who cant dribble nor cross as a winger.

Poolman SG

I believe .... like Kenny Dalglish , Houllier , Roy Evans and Souness .... Rafa will go "with mutual agreement ".

Liverpool never sacked their Manager !

One way or the other , it's like a sack la .....

What do u expect , a manager , who has spent a fortune on foreign players , and had only deliver one UCL .

At this stage , this is not enough .

This defeat , plus losing the grip on the EPL Title , also Carling Cup defeat , and his last straw - UCL , and if ... Liverpool don't get 4th , i think Rafa will go .

Nothing can save him , only winning the UCL can save his ass .

The way i see , Liverpool not good enough to win the UCL this season .

So i regret to say , Rafa will give way to someone else .

kopiosatu SG

winning UCL is finished for me.

getting 4th is more important.

because if he doesn't get 4th, the next year there's no UCL

no UCL = no money = Leeds Utd

kopiosatu SG

anyway don't say so early about "not sacking"

the new american owners are idiots.

don't be surprised that they'll break the tradition

stellazio SG

Liverpool really relies too much on Stevie G and Torres and this should not be the case.

Poolman SG

A sad-day for all Liverpool fans .... Can't even hold a Championship team to at least a draw .

Poolman SG

Oh dear .... we are supposed to have the most fear striking force in the EPL , from Torres , Babel , Kuyt and Crouch , plus Voronin .

How many goals were contributed by all except Torres ?

Kuyt were the most disappointing .... sadly so , Rafa even played him at the wrong position .

Reason : His father passed away , that's why affected him .

Non-sense , right ?

Medicated Oil SG

Actually Ah Hou did not put his players out of position, nor did he rotate his players.

His downfall is he bought and used too many lousy players.

Not forgetting he is crazy about playing defensive soccer.

Maybe Ah Ben is sick of being in the limelight after his buddy, Jose left.

He could be getting excuse to be sacked and to gain compensation.

His players could be plotting his downfall indirectly by playing with no passion and no standard.

The players are also to blame for the defeat.

The team only look hungry when stevie joined the play, before that the play was in a mess.

They are killing the fan with their terrible play.

798 SG

look like rafa going to leave at the end of the season regardless the team getting 4th position or not.

the only way he could keep his job is to win the UCL champ which is kinda impossible given dat the team play like bunch of passengers.

stellazio SG

If you were Rafa, would you want to stay?

Firstly, his senior management has backstabbed him.

Secondly, he might not even get the funds he wants to buy a few players that he really really needs.

Thirdly, the team doesn't show any interest in playing for him cept for Stevie G, Torres and Carragher.

Lastly, he has too much work to do like covering for the loss of an assistant manager and he's not even being appreciated.

Maybe getting sacked and a handsome compensation package might not be so bad after all.

a good manager gets the best out of his players...

he has a stable of damned good players...

he's gotten absolutely nothing out of them... and it looks like they don't give a flying rat's ass about it either...

once the pride is gone, they don't care anymore.. they're just going through the motions.. and in this league, going through the motions isn't enough...

stellazio SG

Stevie G and Jamie Carragher plays their hearts out for the pride of the Liverpool uniform, something most of the others doesn't seem to be doing. Also it doesn't help that many of his buys has ended up being flops.

Plus not to mention the fact that the big 3 seems to be playing their own mini league and the lack of a challenge for the EPL title that their fans so dearly crave for so many years.

Great History, Wonderful Supporters, Uncommitted Players n Lousy Manager...

tis sum up as current Liverpool right now. another heart-breaking season for the pool fans.
