Premiership - Aurelio will miss start of season
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has confirmed that defender Fabio
Aurelio will miss the start of the season after failing to recover
in time from a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The Brazilian full-back sustained the knock during the Reds'
Champions League tie against PSV Eindhoven back in April, but could
be out for a further four weeks with the niggling injury.
Benitez told the club's website: "Fabio isn't fit. It could be
another month before he recovers. We knew it would be a long time
when he got injured.
"He is improving, but it is not easy when you have this kind of
injury."
Aurelio arrived at Anfield on a free transfer from Valencia a year
ago and made 25 appearances in his debut season.
