Poolman SG vs Date : 03 February Kick-off : 8.45pm Singapore Time Venue : Anfield Liverpool Live on :
Poolman SG One of our toughest opponent of all time , much more difficult than Chelsea and West Ham . Playing West Ham on Tuesday , and 2 games in a week does us no favour , but still we have a match to face , a difficult match , an absolute physical side to play against .... We will still need a win , that 3 points , to overtake Chelsea .... Then Man Utd .... Liverpool 2-1 .
Poolman SG SkySport's pundit & Former Toffeeman Andy Gray on L'pool vs Everton It doesn't matter that Everton aren't in the best of form going into the 205th Merseyside derby with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday. They always seem to be able to pull a performance together and give Liverpool plenty of problems, and I don't think that will be any different this weekend. On paper people might say that Liverpool will walk away with it, they've won 9 of their last ten league games and have the best home record in the Premiership. But I've played in a few of these derbies and nothing will motivate Everton more than nicking a win or even putting in a good performance at the home of the fiercest rivals. David Moyes will hope this game can kick-start their season after the Toffees' recent slump in form which has seen them win just one match since the turn of the year. Everton recorded their biggest win over Liverpool in 42 years when they won 3-0 at Goodison back in September and they have a chance to complete their first league double over the Reds since Howard Kendall's team in 1984-85. There's no doubt that they have the work cut out but the absence of Andy Johnson on Saturday might not be as big a loss as it looks at first glance. AJ had something of a lean spell in front of goal prior to injuring his ankle against Wigan last weekend, and I think David Moyes will be more concerned with getting things right defensively. Everton don't have the capability to out-shoot Liverpool or try to outscore them, so they have to concentrate on nullifying Liverpool's attacking threat, which on current form will be easier said that done. Johnson may be out but David Moyes will more relieved to see Tim Cahill being passed fit to play on Saturday.
Poolman SG Let's pray hard the Liverpool boys finish this match all in one piece , we can't afford any injury before the match against Barcelona . It hurts when our talisman Luis Garcia isn't fit to play against his former club .
the_unknown SG tonight's lineup: Liverpool - Reina, Finnan, Riise, Carragher, Agger, Alonso, Gerrard, Pennant, Bellamy, Crouch, Kuyt. Subs - Dudek, Hyypia, Fowler, Gonzalez, Zenden. glad to see zenden back.
Poolman SG Sad not to see Momo back in action , saw news last week he could be back for this match , but no !
Poolman SG Everton strategy is to create chances on set-pieces …. cos they knew they can’t do anything from open-play .
