Yes, a very potential one indeed.
Rafa needs to regroup after our trashing at Goodison Park. Stick to
a set best 11 way before the game and make sure they go in with a
set game plan, instead of tinkering around for solutions halfway
through the second half like our game against Everton.
My line-up for this game :
GK : Reina
RB : Finnan
CB : Agger
CB : Carragher*
LB : Riise*
RM : Pennant
DM : Sissoko
AM : Gerrard
LM : Gonzalez
CF : Crouch
CF : Kuyt
*If fully fit.
Reina has been god-awful recently but bo pian, unless you want put
Dudek in there. Which is not a bad idea come to think of it.
Sami's slow and Aurelio is plain sheet ; I can see he is finding it
very hard to adjust to the physical nature of the English game.
Daniel Agger however, is a hell of a sharp young player and from
recent deplays, shows a maturity and composure beyond his years. As
well as that awesome crack of a goal.
Xabi Alonso, world-class playmaker that he is, has been awful in
recent games. It's obvious he is suffering from a dip in form right
now. His passes are going astray, and his play is uninspiring.
Sissoko is right at heart bossing the midfield, giving Gerrard the
liberty to roam forward. Gonzalez and Pennant, what can I say? They
are the proper right and left wingers we have been constantly
looking for - please, no more makeshift ones in Gerrard, Cisse or
Garcia.
I suspect that Kuyt has Shevchenko-like qualities about him. It is
a pity he was not given the chance to impress today because of the
messy state of the team. Crouch should be fully rested from those
internationals by then and hopefully can convert his awesome
England form for the European club stage.
All the best Liverpool FC.
Here's to a great kick-off for the 2006/2007 European Cup
campaign.
