He will forever be on the end of flak for his ostensible
clumsiness and less than perfect looks. Not every footballer can
have the physical looks of a Beckham or that Kalvin Klein underwear
model, Ljunberg.
He will, however, hold my respect as a Liverpool player.
He is not selfish. He gives his all. He's the everyman turned
footballing professional. That is all I would ever ask of him as a
fan. He is what most of us would look and act like if were to
suddenly be plunged into playing professional football. Individuals
like him and Carragher are a breath of fresh air from the
ego-tripping superstars of Chelsea and Manchester United. I will
not trade him for a Shevchenko or a Van Nisterooy.
