Rafa left with no more funds

Agenda SG

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez does not have the money to push ahead with the possible signing of Dirk Kuyt.

If Rafa pushes ahead with the signings of Craig Bellamy and Daniel Alves, the manager will not have anything left in the kitty to sign the Feyenoord hitman unless he raises cash by selling first.

Had Djibril Cisse's proposed sale not been delayed, there shouldn't have been a problem but with the Reds now down as much as £8million as a result, Rafa knows he has to sell.

Local hack Chris Bascombe today backed up the suggestions that Rafa wouldn't have the cash for Kuyt.

In this evening's Liverpool Echo, he wrote: "A deal for the Dutchman is currently wholly dependant on Liverpool raising significant funds in sales."

Good, There are actually still funds amounting to a good 15m.. but rumours that are flying around is that the funds are probably gonna be used for a player who is at the WC

dragg SG

liverpool so poor?

Agenda SG

Yea, Our owner don’t sell oil.. But we get better players for cheaper price

dragg SG

that is what you think.

Agenda SG

Let's see how much Manu spend last season - Less than 15m
Let's see how much Liverpool spend last season - Less than 15m
Let's see how much Chelsea spend last season - Essien, 22m, Del Horno, 8m

Let's look at the whole Team after the reforming

Manu - Rooney, Smith, Ji Sung, Van der Sar, Saha - Total cost = 45m or so
Liverpool - Alonso, garcia, nando, sissoko, cisse, agger, crouch = 56m or so, Cisse is not Rafa's buy or its 42m
Chelsa - Ferreira, Tiago, Carvalho, Drogba, Essien, SWP, Del Horno, Robben = 101m or so

Wow.. twice the money spent on players who brought them the 1st continous title, placing them 7 pts behind manu and 9 pts behind liverpool

with such talents, The special one puts 10man behind the ball while making lampard slamming goals in

Bo pian, any profits have to go into the fund for the new stadium.... Wink

Also the repayment of loans taken to repay to bank from the Houllier's reign .

Houllier spent almost 100 million pounds , and we're in debt , fortunately we managed to recoup some , but most is losing money .

Some players like Diarra , Cheyrou , Diouf , Diao , Cisse all in that losing money bracket .

Poolman SG

Well said , once we got the sufficient funds for the building of a new stadium , plus some investments , we could be on our way to another era of glory .

New stadium means bigger gate money , bigger share of advertising endorsements , bigger and newer stadium can fetch bigger tickets money etc.....

Benitez does have headache in transfer , but he knew , the jig-saw , eventually , piece by piece , to be into completion .

rafa is a smart dude..

while i, being a Man Utd fan, find that SAF is losing the plot..

i just hope they'll perform better next season.. to be more consistent..

its just frustrating to see them play these days..

gone are the days of giggs, scholes, keane and becks running the midfield.

ghimpheng SG

Chelsea is really using “money” now buy sheva and ballack !

Poolman SG

Rafa actually not have no more funds , the funds is being tight down by major purpose , for major events .

Due to the accessive disposal at Anfield , Rafa really needs to get rid of those un-wanted players b4 he can re-oganise his new team .

Agenda SG

Of course excess should be spent if your gaffa feels right.. But that was directed at dragg at how money does mean godly and money doesn't bring quality

CKeer SG

Haha.. Better still. U wouldn't wanna see 2 crouches running on the field at the same time!

Cheers.

I mean, Look at Manu.. Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, G.Neville, Keane were all free and the among the best players in the 90s.. Minus Neville for that though

Look at Liverpool, Macca, Redknapp, Owen, Fowler, Gerrard, Carra.. All are quality players

Look at Chelsea, Terry.. The only good product the chelsea youth academy produced
