Rafa's £12million bid for striker

Poolman SG

Newspaper reports today claim that Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez will table a £12million bid for Charlton striker Darren Bent whether we win the FA Cup final or not.

It is reported that the Reds will swoop once the Cup Final is out of the way.

Bent scored 22 times in all competitions this season and with Rafa in the market for strikers, it's not difficult to work out why the player would be under consideration.

Whether or not a bid will be forthcoming, we'll have to wait and see.

Really ?????

dragg SG

is bent that good?

even though he did well this season but it is still too early to tell.

hopefully he is not a one-season player.

remember diao and dioup? both played very well during the world cup.

Båseline SG

Seriously, the transfer fees for English players are way inflated. While Darren Bent has shown he can scores but the price tag can buy 2-3 excellent European youngsters for the future….with spare change.

dragg SG

liverpool should go for strikers with a proven scoring record.

one season only is too risky.

bent is totally unheard of before the 2005/06 season.

stellazio SG

yea michael ricketts comes to mind..a one season wonder..

Poolman SG

I thought Jermaine Defoe is a better option ?

Maybe Bent has height advantage compare to Defoe ? Or younger ? or faster ?

Maybe he wanted to buy before the World Cup or else his price inflated if he does have a good World Cup campaign , is he in the WC 23's ?

not even on standby

X-men SG

Shocked WHAT!

Another one season hero? Don't we have a Crouch already Twisted Evil

ghimpheng SG

bent is taller than defoe............slighty faster........used to play as lone striker........know how to pounce on chances when it come.......younger.........got more games than defoe.........better finishing

Poolman SG

Marcus Bent deal is " ON ! "

10 Million Pounds + one striker swap .

That swapped striker could well be Sinama Pongelle ! Can't be Cisse , or Morientes , and maybe Anthony Le Tellac .

RSP SG

Marcus or Darren? Laughing

Poolman SG

Sorry !!!!

Seriously, I hope we sign RVN since he's a proven striker and is currently unhappy at manu Very Happy

incredible SG

ben is mad to table 12 mil for bent.

i think he should just table 12k and get noh alam shah.

dont tell me he feels bent is the best he can find now ok.

I am sure tt spurs will tabled a bid for ruud pretty soon.

ruud is 10 times better than bent....

if bent is good, he will have been in the WC squad

dcx SG

hmz..what happened to aimar huh? i tot rafa wanted to buy him last year?

i'm a charlton fan!

Lfc gamble on bent?

Even though Bent has been a really good striker for us banging in goals,, but I'm not sure if he's a player that LFC should sign and aim for. Certainly, Bent's not world class or european class.

AND YES

who knows he will be a one season wonder.
