Liverpudlians have sung about it for years but now it's official - Liverpool Football Club is the best in the world and we have the stats to prove it!
Following the publication of the latest World Club Rankings by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics the Reds are today sitting proud as the top team in world football.

Based on domestic and continental results over the past 12 months, the reigning Champions of Europe are listed as the number one club side on the planet and who are we to argue?

"The World Club Ranking is a precise classification showing the real level of the clubs free of any subjective influence," reads a statement on the IFFHS website. "It is the result of a profound analysis that allows us to fairly report the level of international performance for each country."

But for now, sit back and bask in the glory of being able to look down on every other team in the world...

@theKopEnd SG

Its funny you mentioned those 5 teams because LFC beat 3 of the 5 clubs you mentioned en route to winning the trophy at Istanbul. Razz

"Lucky to win the UCL" is a common claim. But I feel that every championship winning team in football history has that kind of luck. Afterall, it is that extra element of good fortune, apart from quality that so often give winning teams the edge over their rivals. How many times have we seen championship winning teams in the EPL struggle against opponents for most of the game and yet come away at the end with a 1-0 and 3 points?

Chelsea? I admit, they do have a good squad, multi million dollar talents that only the wealth of RA can buy. They've got a winning manager in Jose Mourinho, arrogrant but brilliant. However, sportsmanship is severely lacking. The manager speaks too loudly. Some of the players and fans are behaving like the gaffer. The club needs an injection of humilty. In case you're wondering, its definitely not a case of sour grapes. I appreciate good football. Apart from playing well and getting the results, sportsmanship is key. CFC may have the former 2, they are desperately lacking in the 3rd.

Back to the topic, It's just the system by which they judge teams that favors LFC. It's based a lot on history and tradition. European form are emphasized more than domestic. As much as I will like to admit it, I don't think they are the number 1 club in the world at the moment. Certainly not when they are lying in the bottom half of the EPL, struggling for form away from Anfield. Nevertheless, the standings serve nothing bad to the morale of the players and fans. It's always good that someone else thinks you're number 1. Very Happy

By the way what the fu-ck is the International Federation of Football History and Statistics? Where is it? Its boss works on an Arctic icecap and keeps himself by playing with his pet seal? Or fishes piranhas in the Amazon? I did a net search on this so called organization and could'nt find its "offical website".

Inter 2nd in the world? Was it even in the CL semis? Was it even 2nd in Serie A?

Could'nt help but laugh my guts out,what a joke,it is November not April 1 leh!

Sorry,only rankings by UEFA and FIFA counts.

Newcastle and Old Firm in top 50? You're kidding me. Surprised

leddy SG

the question we should be asking here is WHERE IS GEYLANG UNITED?

this is just a loadful of false info with lotsa numbers to confuse peple. there is no basis of calculation for the above table. as such, the table is only to boast the ego of Liverpool fans.

i can also come up with a table with even more confusing numbers and formulas and i will have Florentina at the top

Why don't they bull-sh*t the stats on about MU and AC Milan , or Barcelona or Real , why must choose Liverpool , hor ? Rolling Eyes

There must be something special about L'pool that worth a bull-sh*t lor !

i really doubt the stats of this fifa world ranking as Juventus are 19th ? and Chelsea Are 12th ? I though whole bunch of Experts are saying that Chelsea is consider the best team in europe and they are not even top 5 of the fifa ranking Rolling Eyes

dragg SG

they did not b u l l s h i t on purpose. maybe the collection of data is flawed.

you agree inter milan is the second best team in the world?

dragg SG

moreover premiership results are also included. chelsea's result beats liverpool by 37 points.

liverpool's champions league win is only 1 game better than chelsea's semi-final finish.

isnt it flawed?

casshern SG

well, quite easy to solve this. the webmasters are fans of Liverpool, as much as TNP sports journalists are Man Utd fans

idiot proof

@theKopEnd SG

Webmasters were merely showing the results of the poll. I don't think they had anything to do with the way the rankings were being tallied.
