Aston Villa have agreed a fee with Liverpool for Milan
Baros.
The Czech Republic marksman has been deemed surplus to requirements
by Reds boss Rafa Benitez, who was keen to cash in on him to
strengthen his side elsewhere.
French champions Lyon have lodged a bid of £8.5 million but Baros
is not keen on joining up with Gerard Houllier again and prefers to
stay in The Premiership.
Villa had bid £6.5 million and now the European champions have
accepted an as-yet undisclosed offer for the 23-year-old
striker.
Baros will now travel to Villa Park for a medical on Monday night
and Villa expect the deal to be concluded on Tuesday with Baros
penning a four-year deal.
"We've reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign the player and
the next step is for him to have a medical," Villa operations
director Steve Stride told the club's website.
"Hopefully we can soon conclude the deal."
