Poolman SG

Date: 22nd February 2005

Day : Wednesday morning

Time : 3.45am Confused

Vebue : Anfield

Sianz .... Morientes Cup-Tied !

Attacking options limited , Baros & Mellor ??? Baros & Garcia ??? Baros & Gerrard ???? Baros & Le Tellac ???

Not all's bad news , Kewell is back !!

Josemi is back too ! ~~~ Sad Mr. Green

Poolman SG

L'pool will be without Stevie G. for this match , as he's suspended ! Sad

Without S.Gee , Alonso .... Confused

Any idea who will be playing in their position ? Biscan seemed a certain replacement , follow by ...... ????? Hamann ?? Two defensive midfielders ?

chihuahua SG

seems like liverpool is at quite a unfavourable position at this stage.. oh hell...lets just hope something good comes out of kewell & the youngsters...also hope that the defenders don't sleep on the job & also for dudek to be at his peak ^___^

i'd like to see the new signing from leeds to play ;x

kpo SG

maybe kewell, garcia, or smicer? ... i think 2 out of these 3 will play cos baros need a partner too ... lucky diao not here already ... heng ah ...

Medicated Oil SG

Liverpool and Chelsea have League Cup to play on Sunday.

Given the limited options that Ah Ben have, I dunno what players he can pick for Wed Morning Game.

Hope they can hold for a draw and play for the Cup on Sunday.

Chelsea is weakened with the injury to the key players and if they suffered further casualties on CL game, the chances of Liverpool lifting the League Cup again is HIGH !!!!

Poolman SG

League Cup Final ?

Let's focus on the UCL , Carling Cup is least important at this stage !

Maybe Hamann will anchor the defensive role , follow by Igor Biscan spreading the ball across the pitch , providing the ball to the width to Riise , Garcia with Kewell and Baros in attack !

Mellor will standby for Kewell in the second half !

Nunuez and Warnock will be on standby for the wing role . Le Tellac on bench for Baros !

Surprising line-up will see Carson in goal for L'pool .

anyone know of any live commentarty for tonight's liverpool match. apparently they're not showing it on tv Crying or Very sad

Redz SG

There was a delayed telecast at 6am (n later 1am) - surely Poolman wld've watched it.

Good win (3:1) to bring forward to Germany. Interestingly, it's achieved w/out our Stevie.

Anyway, we are now fav to go thru...well done Reds!!! Smile

Medicated Oil SG

If the same team that play against Brimingham City can beat Bayern Leverkusen, I am beginning to doubt the commitment of the players.

Managed to catch a glimpse of the game.

The team is actually playing well and more goals can be scored if not for the poor link up between the strikers.

Now, Liverpool have done a good job.

Hope they can extend to the Cup Match on Sunday and BEAT Chelsea.

Poolman SG

Reds ar , I recorded the 2 hours , not actually watch it !

Just came back for a break , and saw a very good game .

Poolman SG

Benitez did the right thing last week , he bombarded the player's commitment publicly and was well-rewarded by these 5-Star performance !

It could be easily 4-1 , if not for Baros' missed opportunities !

Who needs Gerrard when we have Biscan ?

Riise was the hungriest man on the pitch , he was Bayern's most hated man , he was their thorn in the a*s ! Laughing

Aiya , Dudek ! Evil or Very Mad ( again ! ) , if not , we're very comfortable for the second leg !

Wow ! Stevie will be back then .

Who expected us to beat Bayern when we do not have Gerrard , Alonso , Morientes and Cisse ?

But we just did !

L'pool again surprised me .

For those who missed , you must watch , entertaining level : 8/10 Wink

dcx SG

As always.....Liverpool surprised us when we expected a bad game for them....you expect Liverpool to beat weak teams, but they din...vice-versa..

SBS9828X SG

did they win?? whats de score

Poolman SG

Wa piang ! 3-1 ! ( knock your head once ! )

Line up last night and their performance ratings :

Dudek : 5/10
Traore : 7/10
Hyypia : 8/10
Carragher : 8/10
Finnan : 6/10
Garcia : 7/10
Riise : 9/10 MOM
Biscan : 8/10
Hamman : 8/10
Baros : 7/10
Kewell : 8/10 ( best display in L'pool's jersey this season ! )

Darren Potter : 4/10 ( not much impact )
Le Tellac : 6/10 ( he earn that free-kick that got our third goal ! )
Smicer : 5/10

Redz SG

Overall, the team played well - notably Hamman, Biscan, n Riise.

Beni's wake-up call to the team was timely....hope they carry on the momentum this Sunday! Very Happy

Poolman SG

To make things even sweeter , we are the only winner in those first leg games , MU lost , Chelsea lost , Arsenal lost , all away lost !

Good luck to them for their coming home game .

zorro82 SG

This match proves that Liverpool can still win games without Steven Gerrard.
If Steven Gerrard is not committed to Liverpool, he can walk off. Let Benitez have the transfer money to buy good players. I'm already have doubt on Steven Gerrard and i dun really mind him leaving Liverpool.

Poolman SG

Sorry , I made a serious mistake , MU lost at home . Looks like MU are going out of the UCL .

Redz SG

Dun worry, ur mistake is not as serious as Carroll's Mr. Green

Hope am not speaking too soon, looks like we cld be the oni English survivors fm this rd.

RSP SG

very inspiring win. unfortunately marred by the late goal keeping blunder by dudek.

hopefully the 2 goal cushion will be enough for the 2nd leg.

important thing is to get the crucial away goal in the 2nd leg.

will have gerrard back and that's a boost.
